Florida State /  Office of the Dean of the Faculties / Appointments / Procedures for 2011/2012 Faculty Re-Appointments

Procedures for 2011/2012 Faculty Re-Appointments

New fall faculty appointments and changes to appointments (which require an ePAF+ or pPAF) must be received in DOF by August 5th for the payroll period ending August 18th as published on the HR website (http://www.hr.fsu.edu/PDF/Publications/compensation/2011PayrollDeadlineCalendar.pdf)

This will ensure that a check will be issued on Friday, August 26, for nine days if the appointment begins on Monday, August 8, 2011.  If incorrect and/or incomplete information is received, there will be no guarantee that the appointment will be entered in time for the August 26th paycheck unless the information is corrected and received by the August 5th deadline.  Academic deans' offices and Sponsored Research Accounting Services (SRAS) require earlier deadlines.  Please begin preparing your Fall appointments at this time and submit them as soon as possible.  This will eliminate the rush when last minute appointments must be processed for the Fall Semester.

Most 9 and 10-month salaried appointments, including Visiting and C&G, who have not been on Leave of Absence (LOA) or Sabbatical for 2010/2011 and will not be on LOA or Sabbatical for 2011/2012, may be entered into the OMNI “Mass Appointments” screen by the staff in the Deans’/Directors’/Vice Presidents’ offices.  You are encouraged to use the online system to enhance the efficiency of the Fall appointment process.  All policies and processes relating to different types of faculty appointments must be followed.

Faculty who are Visiting, C&G funded, OPS, or foreign nationals have an END date on their appointment; they remain in pay status only through their current appointment end date.  With the exceptions noted in this memo (see additional information below), the OMNI online process will produce Fall salaried appointments for 9 and 10 month faculty.
