Advertising Tips

  • All Regular and Research positions require advertisement in the FSU On-line Position Vacancy Listing.
  • Exceptions:
    1. If the position is 50% FTE or less.
    2. If the position is grant funded and the person is written by name into the grant. (A copy of the grant page with the person's name highlighted must be submitted to HR with all appropriate backups.)
    3. Visiting appointments are exempt from the advertising requirement
       for up to one year.
    4. McKnight Fellow recipients or Provost's or Dean's Minority Faculty Recruitment Program designees approved through the Provost Office. (Exemption from advertising documentation must be sent to HR with all backups.)
    5. Waivers of advertisement for faculty approved by the Provost (send memorandum of justification to the Dean of the Faculties for approval by the Provost).
    6. Waivers of advertisement for non-faculty approved by Director of Diversity Enhancement and Compliance.
  • All new advertisements must be listed a minimum of one week.
  • Most re-advertisements can be listed a minimum of one day. The Office of the Dean of the Faculties reserves the right to re-advertise for a longer period of time if deemed necessary.
