The Dean of Graduate Studies has university-wide responsibility for the quality of graduate education. Along with the Graduate Policy Committee the Dean is responsible for the determination of general policies and standards relating to graduate programs. Membership in the graduate faculty is regulated by the Office of Graduate Studies.
Graduate students can obtain advice and assistance relating to academic matters from the Office of Graduate Studies. This includes such issues as degree requirements, thesis and dissertation format, program changes and reinstatement as well as information on the availability of assistantships, fellowships and tuition waivers.
