The Florida State University encourages travel for professional reasons when such travel will benefit the individual or the University. The amount of travel is, of course, limited by the funds available.
All travel away from the University for professional reasons must be cleared through proper channels whether or not it involves expenses to the State of Florida. Worker's Compensation insurance may be jeopardized if proper authorization is not obtained. A Travel Authorization Request (TAR) form requesting permission to travel away from the campus on official business must be submitted in advance of travel. Forms for reimbursement of travel expenses may be obtained from department offices.
