Administrative and Professional employees who are not covered by the BOR-UFF Agreement may be dismissed due to incompetence; dereliction of duty; personal or professional misconduct; or conviction by a court of a felony. A supervisor who determines that a subordinate should be dismissed for cause will make the recommendation through administrative channels to the University President. The University President or the President's designee will notify the employee of her or his impending dismissal. The letter will include the reason or cause for the dismissal and its effective date. The employee may elect a formal administrative proceeding pursuant to 120.57(1), Florida Statutes, or may exercise her/his rights as provided in rule 6C2-4.0592, FAC. The University President or the President's designee retains the right to impose disciplinary action, other than dismissal, for just cause. Such action shall be subject to the grievance procedure found in rule 6C2-4.0591, FAC.
Disciplinary actions involving Administrative and Professional employees, who are covered by the BOR-UFF Agreement, will be handled in accordance with that agreement.
