2008 New Faculty Orientation
Monday, August 18, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. (2:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. will be reserved for benefit questions and enrollment) at the University Center Club - Tom and Ginny Futch Ballroom. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Tuesday, August 19, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m at the University Center Club - Tom and Ginny Futch Ballroom. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Wednesday, August 20th: New Faculty Social, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Werkmeister Reading Room in Dodd Hall.
Saturday, August 23rd: Provost’s Welcome Dinner, 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Alumni Center.

*Health Insurance Note:
There are two options to obtain a September 1st effective date for health insurance coverage. The earliest supplemental insurance (i.e., dental) effective date is October 1st.
- The Benefits section of Human Resources (HR) will be hosting two health insurance information/enrollment sessions for new faculty members on August 7th from 8:30—10:30 am and 1:30—3:30 pm, in the HR Department located at 6200A University Center Building A. If you would like to attend one of these sessions, please contact Linda Lieblong at 644-7932 or via email at llieblong@admin.fsu.edu to register. Attending this session will allow you to enroll for September 1st coverage through a deduction for the health insurance premium from your August 15th paycheck.
- At the August 18th orientation session (2:30—5:00 pm), you may enroll and pay by personal check for your September health insurance premium. Otherwise, an October 1st effective date will apply to your health insurance benefits.
